Sunday’s Digital Summit 4.0 brought together exhibitors and librarians for breakout groups and general discussion of pressing issues in technology, curation, budgeting, access and more. Organized and presented by Erin Miller (University of North Texas), Sarah McCleskey (Hofstra University), Winifred Metz (University of North Carolina) and Laura Jenemann (Boston University).
Representative from six exhibitor firms responded to questions from attendees in an insightful 30-minute session. Pictured L-R above are David Parker (Alexander Street/ProQuest), Doug Mingle (Films Media Group/Infobase), Shannon Spurlock (Kanopy), Kendra Hodgson (Media Education Foundation), Kevin Chlebovic (National Film Board), Jon Betz (Collective Eye Films).
The Digital Summit 4.0 was part of NMM’s 2018 Professional Development Agenda, a vital and growing part of our commitment to the library and educator professions.
At the Welcome Reception, we previewed trailers for the three Best in Show Finalists, welcomed 19 registration scholarship recipients sponsored by Alexander Street Press/ProQuest, Films Media Group/Infobase, and Docuseek2/Bullfrog Films. Afterward, friends met for late night afterparties.
Market Mania is a highly valued feature that allows attendees an entire day of reviewing content presented by exhibitors.
The exhibitor suites concept is unique to NMM and prized for its intimacy. Vendors and buyers return year after to make and renew professional relationships, and, with the time allowed through NMM’s format, gather valuable intelligence.
Exhibitors work hard to combine promotion with inviting touches to leave a lasting impression.
Board members share a responsibility for providing organized events at local venues that will extend NMM’s collegial atmosphere while providing attendees with a much-needed break.
Audience members await the announcement and full length screening of our Best in Show winning film on the final night of the Market.
