Creating a Microsoft PowerPoint© with Embedded Video for Market Mania
- Create a folder where you will place the final product. Give it a descriptive name, preferably with your company's name in the folder name.
- Obtain the clip (or clips) you want to use. The clip should be in a native Windows format (avi, mpeg, etc). Save the clip to the folder you created in step 1.
- Launch Microsoft PowerPoint. PowerPoint should start you off with a blank presentation. (If not, click on File->New.) Save your blank document to the folder you created in step 1.
-
Click Insert -> Movies and Sound -> Movie from File. This will bring up a dialog box
called "Insert Movie." Navigate to the folder you created in step 1, and select the clip
you put there.
-
The next dialog box you see will ask if you want the clip to start automatically
(when the slide comes up) or if the person at the computer has to click the movie to
start it. Unless you have a speech to give before your clip starts, select "Automatically".
Otherwise select "When Clicked".
-
Click on the Edit menu, and click "Movie Object". Check the box that says "Zoom to
Full Screen". Click "OK".
- Save your presentation.
Please remember that all presentations will be limited to seven (7) minutes in time, and 100MB in hard drive space.
At this point you can stop, or work to customize your presentation. But if you stop here you will have a perfectly acceptable presentation.
Burn the entire folder you created in step one, presentation and clip included, to a CD-ROM and mail it to the NMM Director.
